Here's an idea I had for a neat little note or gift tag.

1 sheet of typing paper

Embroidery Floss

Colored Pencil

Fine Line Permanent Marker Pen

Fold the paper in half  lengthwise. Fold again widthwise.  Cut out the pocketbook in whatever shape you prefer, making sure not to cut on the folded side. Take the top layer only and cut the shape of flap that you want. Thread a needle with the embroidery floss. Embroider using a blanket stitch, whipstitch, running stitch or whatever suits your mood. You can also glue if you prefer. Make sure that you embroider the bottom layer of the flap to the rest of the pocketbook. This creates the pocket. Start embroidering from the back where the flap folds over the pocketbook leaving a length of floss for the strap. Continue embroidering all the way around ending in the back again and leaving some more length of floss for the strap. Draw the strap sides together and tie a knot. You may embroider the flap or leave it as is. Some examples above include different stitches and variations of the same idea. The second image shows the pocketbook with the flap open. I have embellished the inside under the flap as well. Image number 4 uses one of those small pictures, meant for I don't know what, as I've never found a use for them yet. I just framed it with some construction paper and added a few designs around it. Use colored pencils and then finish with the fine line marker for detailing. The possibilities are endless and it's quick and easy.
